Friday July 14th, 2023 | Club Brielle | Evening "You drive a hard bargain, Ms. Moretti." Olivia smiled at the aging face of one Edward Hughes, manager of the Wimbourne Wasps. "We'll settle on four years and three point four million." He held out a sun-spotted hand out and Liv took in a breath before shaking his hand. "It's settled," she said as she released his hand. "And, please, call me Olivia." Edward smiled a toothy grin and slid the parchment over to her. Without hesitation, Olivia picked up the quill and signed her name on the contract. "Welcome to the Wasps," said Edward as he turned the parchment toward himself. There was a short round of a applause from the others in the room as Liv rose from her seat. She offered a smile and a polite wave before leaving the room. The door closed behind her and she paused and leaned against the door, closing her eyes and holding her hands to her chest. It was done - she was a professional Quidditch player. A bright and happy grin started to slowly spread across her face as she exhaled. Now, it was time to celebrate.
The young witch left the stadium and went back to her flat to get ready. The next few hours were spent showering, doing her hair and makeup, and getting dressed in one of her finest outfits. After putting on a pair of diamond earrings and spritzing herself with perfume, Liv left to go to Club Brielle. Since graduating and moving out on her own, Olivia has started going to Club Brielle for a night of drinks and entertainment. Live performers and amazing drinks and lively dance partners, it really had it all. And it was only a few blocks away. Olivia made her way to the club and found her a seat at the bar. She ordered a cosmo and sipped on it as she watched a wizard band perform on stage. Their music had a jazzy feel to it and Liv was really digging it. The lead singer was cute, too, which was a plus. Liv drank on her cosmo and swayed to the music. When her glass was empty, she turned in her seat and went to order another just as a man approached the bar with his own order. They spoke up at the same time and stopped talking at the same time, Liv looking over at him with wide, brown eyes. He had these rugged good looks with dirty blonde hair tousled just so perfectly and his eyes were such a striking shade of blue. "I'm sorry," she managed to sputter out. Liv blinked and got herself together enough to smile warmly at him. "Another cosmo, please." Olivia didn't break eye contact with him as turned her head to give her order to the bartender. She waited for him to order before she held out her hand. "Hi, I'm Liv."

He had only been in the city for a few weeks. Everything was different from the US. First, Sawyer had to get used to how everything had a different name over here. He knew that things had different names, but he didn't realize how many things actually did. Thank goodness for his phone and he could type in essentially a translator. Trying to figure out what people were saying with the vast array of accents was tricky. Sawyer had to ask more than once to have someone repeat themselves to figure out what they were saying. The weirdest thing that he had to try to comprehend why his laundry machine was in the kitchen...That just didn't make sense to him. What he did like so far was the new adventure with the Wasps' and in the United Kingdom. He had gotten used to the Massachusetts scenery since he was eleven. It was time for something new. When he got several offers from across the pond, he took the opportunity before it was too late. He settled in a rather large flat, for London standards, and was slowly making the space his. He got his first paycheck after signing, and was hesitant to spend any of it, but he did need a place to live, along with furniture. It wasn't worth having most of his stuff shipped over, so time to splurge a little. Once his house finally felt settled, he needed to get from seeing the same four walls. He went to a nearby bar that had good ratings and appeared to be fun. He desperately needed to unwind from the major life changes over the last several weeks. The bar was lively and enjoyable. The singer and band were pretty great, better than most of the DJs that the clubs that he went to in the States. The dancing made him thirsty where he went to the bar, wanting to order a beer. He approached the same time a beautiful woman with dark hair spoke at the same time as him. Sawyer stopped, shifting his eyes to her, giving her a friendly smile, allowing her to speak first. "No, I'm sorry," he admitted, his blue eyes roving over her gorgeous figure in the black dress with a plunging neckline. It looked as if it was made for her. "Beer, please," he told the bartender. His sharp gaze stayed on her as she held her hand out, introducing herself. Sawyer placed his hand in hers and replied, "Sawyer," with the most charming smile he could muster. Outfit

The way he took her in had her heart picking up speed in her chest, a rush of warmth flooding over her. She couldn't help the prideful smile that made its way on her face. Liv let her eyes rake over him in turn, liking the way his dimples were accentuated by his million galleon smile. The accent was surprising, but not unwelcome. His voice was smooth like velvet. "You're American," she observed once the two had been acquainted, her own Roman accent bleeding through. It would be clear to him that she was not born and bred in the UK. "Have you been in London long?" she asked curiously as the bartender slid over their drinks. Olivia picked up her glass and continued to watch him as she raised it to her lips, taking a slow sip. He was roguishly handsome and that smile of his was drawing her in, Liv leaning in almost imperceptibly toward him. She wasn't a stranger to the attentions of men, but Sawyer's eyes on her left a feeling of bubbles in her throat. What was this feeling?

Her eyes were sharp and dark, so deep that there was no end to them. Her cheekbones were high and defined, only accentuated more by her brilliant smile. Her smile was perfect and bright. Her hair was perfectly styled. The dress fit her like it was custom made. Everything seemed meticulous and well-thought out, put together so perfectly. He knew that right then and there that there would be no one better in the club that night, only the woman that stood before him.
"You're correct," he said with a dashing smile. Her accent was far different form the various UK accents he had experienced the last several weeks. Still, her accent was recognizable, and perhaps even sexier than the English accent. "Italy," he guess, tilting his head slightly with a miniscule raise of his brows.
The bartender gave them their drinks. He was sipping the golden liquid when she asked her question. "Only a few weeks. What about you," he questioned, already wanting to more about the gorgeous stranger.

She couldn't hide the way she flushed when he guessed her accent correctly nor could she hide the bright smile that followed. "Sì," she said, her lashes fluttering as she smiled at him. Liv couldn't tell you what was going on with her body, but she knew whatever she was feeling was intense. Immediately she knew she liked him. "Born and raised in Rome." Olivia leaned an elbow on her knee, propping her chin up in her hand. Her foot kicked out and brushed against his leg. Perhaps she wasn't being the most subtle, but it was like she was longing for more.
"My family's been in London for about eight years," she answered him, sipping some more on her drink. Liv set aside her drink and sat up a bit, leaning in a little. "I went to Hogwarts. I just graduated, actually. I'm out celebrating getting my dream job." She flashed him another smile and leaned back in her seat a bit, reaching for her drink so she could take another sip.

A woman of culture and adventure, he guessed, from just where she was from. From his American standpoint, anyone who has lived in Europe, such as Italy, was cultured. That excited him. This woman excited him, and that was one of the reasons why he moved. Massachusetts and Pennsylvania all seemed the same. He could have gone out West for an adventure. There were teams out that way that were trying to draft him, but that seemed too simple. The UK teams offered the best deal. After his family's struggle with money, he didn't want to have to worry about that again.
While she adjusted herself in her chair, leaning closer to him (not that he could blame her), her foot brushed against his leg. Sawyer didn't move. In fact, his eyes flicked down at the contact and returned back to hers, a playful uptick in his brows and a matching glint in his eyes, causing the blue to sparkle just a bit brighter.
He leaned his arm against the counter, listening intently to Liv. He picked up his drink and said, "Well, a toast to you then. Congrats," taking a hefty sip in honor of her accomplishments. "I went to Ilvermorny, but that was a few years ago." He took a another sip, but kept his eyes on her. He thought that if he looked away, she might disappear. "By chance, does your dream job consist of being a tour guide," he joked.

Her body tingled at the sparkle in his eyes and she felt a bit of a giddiness bubble up within her. She couldn't remember a time she had been this interested in someone else, her gaze quite locked onto him as she leaned into her hand. Her lips spread into bright smile as she leaned back in her chair to raise her own glass in toast. "Thank you," she said with a laugh as she lowered her glass from her lips. "I've heard a very little of Ilvermorny and only what I read in textbooks. Was it nice?" she asked him, her head tilting ever so slightly to the side. She had never been to America so she was curious to know more. He asked if her dream job had something to do with tour guides and she brought a hand to her chest and laughed. "No, not at all," she said, her laughter starting to subside. "But I'd be happy to show you around."

A small, soft laugh left her after the toast. It was the best sound he had heard all evening, even better than the band. Sawyer wanted to hear it again, hear how it eased out of her so effortlessly, how it matched perfectly with her smile. At her question, Sawyer shrugged his shoulders. "It was alright. It was a normal school. I liked it for the most part, but I don't want to do it again," he answered. It was a wizarding school, so it wasn't exactly normal, but normal for what it was. Sawyer didn't want to do the struggles of being a poor student, having to rely on a scholarship and working tirelessly to have enough money for a decent broom. Nor did he want to experience the death of his friend again.
His eyes glassed over as he recalled his final year. Blinking several times, they returned to normal, giving his full attention back to the woman who reminded him nothing of that traumatizing experience. "How about Hogwarts? I was always curious about the name. I just think of a pig with warts," he shared, nursing another sip from the glass.
Sawyer smiled broadly at her generous laugh, glad to hear more of it. "I'd like that," he replied with a crooked grin, his dimples become more noticeable. "What about right now?" The crowd was getting bigger, meaning that more people would want access to the bar, and that it would become more difficult to hear Liv. Sawyer wanted the least amount of distractions from the captivating woman.

"Hear, hear," she said in agreeance, downing a small portion of her drink. That was one thing she never wanted to experience again. Sure, she had found some real, meaningful relationships during her school years and she learned a lot of magic, but some terrible things happened to her at Hogwarts. Things she'd never want to repeat in a thousand years. He asked about Hogwarts and she looked off into the crowd as she recalled some of her worst experiences. Her gaze returned to him within a second and she was smiling again. "There are so many secrets in that castle," she said as her finger traced the rim of her glass. "I had some good times. Was Captain for three years." Another laugh fell out of her after a moment and she said, "The school song is godawful though."
Olivia was leaning in even more, drawn to his energy with a permanent smile on her lips. People were starting to press in to the bar, bumping into her as they tried to flag down the bartender. Liv fell forward a little and reached a hand out to grab Sawyer's arm to steady herself. She glanced back at the offending elbow as he asked about right now. Olivia looked back at him with an enticing smile. "Now?" she looked down at her drink, shrugged, and downed the rest of it before setting it on the counter and hopping off the barstool. Reaching into her handbag, she pulled out a small handful of coins and set them on the bar before looping her arm with his. "Are you well acquainted with the dance floor or would you rather brave the streets of London?"

He agreed that there were many secrets at school, especially boarding schools. There were a fair share of them at Ilvermorny. He didn't think of them as much now that it was in his past, now that he wasn't there 24/7. "Captain of what," he asked curiously. His mind automatically went to Quidditch, but there were many clubs and possibly more sports at Hogwarts. Sawyer let out a delighted chuckle when she said dthat the school song was awful. "Aren't all school songs," he questioned with an airy laugh.
He instinctively reached out to her when she was pushed into him. Sawyer was distinctly aware of the shocking vibrations that pulsated up his arm. "You good," he asked, looking at the culprit. Liv looked at him with a tempting smile, and his stomach jumped to his throat. The previous incident was now easily forgotten as she finished the rest of her drink. Sawyer did the same. The tink of the glass hitting the bar drowned by the growing noise of the bar. Her arm linked through his. "I've seen the best thing here," he said with a dashing smirk and playful rise of his brow. "But you are the expert of London, so up to you." [/b]

"Quidditch," she answered with a proud smile. "Would've won the Quidditch cup two more years in a row if it hadn't been for Stella Quinn." The Quinns were well known in the Quidditch world for their exceptional brooms and their skill as players. Anya Quinn had been Captain of Puddlemere for many years now and it looks as if Stella will be joining the legacy from what she read in the papers. He let out a light and airy laugh and Liv looked up at him with a warm smile, finding that she really liked the sound. "Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts teach us something please," she sang to him, her manicured brows raising as another laugh erupted. "Think you can beat that?"
If Olivia hadn't been in such a great mood, she might've hexed the person who decided to nudge into her. What if she spilled her drink on herself? As she reached out to catch herself, Sawyer reached out to catch her. Her heart fluttered in her chest and she slowly raised her dark gaze to his face, feeling warmth flush her cheeks. "Yeah," she responded simply before glancing back at the other wizard with a distasteful look. By the time she had looked back to Sawyer, the moment was completely forgotten and in its place was the exciting adventure leaving with him promised. The alcohol sloshed around in her belly as she jumped down and she could feel the way her body tingled as she looped her arm through his, unsure if it was the alcohol taking effect or his enticing presence that was causing it.
He told her he's already seen the best thing here, flashing her the most charming smirk, and she couldn't help the blush that rose to her cheeks. She looked up at him with a bright and somewhat bashful smile. "Well," she started, trying not to giggle as that giddiness rose up in her again,"In that case." Without much thought or care to the world around them, Olivia stopped in her tracks and reached out to grab his free hand and pull him to a stop as well. Now facing him, she gazed up at him with warm and inviting eyes and stepped in closer, her hands sliding up his chest to wrap around his neck. "What more could you want to see?" she asked him in a sultry voice.

"Any relationship to Anya Quinn," Sawyer asked. He had heard of the United Captain. Everyone had. Puddlemere United was at their top of their game, dominating every match for years. He had an offer from them, but he didn't accept. Instead, he went for a team that he could help rise in the ranks, show off his talent. "What position did you play," he inquired, not sharing that he was a player, or a professional one at that. He wanted to keep the anonymity for a while longer.
He bursted out laughing when she did after she sang part of her school song. Sawyer had never heard anything more ridiculous. "No, I don't think anything can beat that. I would have loved to have been there when it was written and see if they drank some firewhiskey while they were at it," he joked. The song was horrifying.
Pink hues colored her tan cheeks. Her smile was brighter and wider than it had been all night. Just that sight alone transformed his charming smirk into a dashing smile, his dimples appearing on both sides. He stopped when she did, curious as to what she was doing. The curiosity subsided when she turned to him, placing her manicured hands on his chest, cascading up and wrapping around his neck. Sawyer gazed down at her with temptation flashing in his eyes. Her voice was rich and inviting, teasing and playful. His hands went to her hips, pulling her just a touch closer. "Oh, I can think of a few things," he replied with a mischievous lilt before his head lowered, closing the distance between them by placing his lips against hers.

"Her cousin, I believe," she replied with a nod of her head. "We weren't close or anything just fellow Captains. Competition could get fierce, especially as it got closer to the end of the season." Olivia sipped on her drink. Liv liked Stella and respected her skill as a Seeker and as a Captain. She's happy she's going to get the chance to play Quidditch with her again. "Chaser," she said with a smile. "Damn good one, too." Liv misses the days where she and Emilia dominated the Quidditch pitch and life was good. She could have told him that she just signed with a professional team, but she was liking how she could just be herself around him. So she kept that little snippet of information to herself. Just one more day as Olivia Moretti the witch and not Olivia Moretti the Quidditch player.
Liv couldn't help but laugh harder as Sawyer started laughing, her fingers brushing away tears from the corner of her eyes. "I'd say they had a whole keg of it," she said as the laughter started to die down. "We had to sing it at a ball once. It was atrocious." She wasn't even going to mention the Frog Choir. Liv could still remember how Matteo's frog jumped through the crowd.
There was this searing warmth spreading throughout her chest as she watched him smile at her, his dimples accentuated. Her breath was starting to slow as her hands slid their way up his chest, feeling the muscular body that lie beneath it, her heart beginning to race. She could see the glint of desire in his eyes and she felt her entire body tingle once more, her hands smoothing over each other around his neck. His deep, rich voice reached her ears and her breath hitched. Olivia had never wanted something as badly as she wanted him at that moment. He kissed her and she melted against him, breathing life into the kiss as her fingers worked their way through his hair. The rest of the world faded away, all the droning around them dimmed to nothing and all she could hear was the music, all she could feel was his touch. Olivia deepened the kiss and pulled herself closer.
When she came to, she felt like she was living in a dream. Her lashes fluttered as she opened her eyes to look upon him, her lips still parted as she slowly pulled away. Every thought had been wiped from her mind and she just stood there, drunk on whatever it was that was happening between them. "I don't suppose you have many complaints," she teasingly said, her lips quirking upwards into a smile. "We'll see if your dancing is up to par." She didn't give him time to respond before she was pulling him onto the dance floor as the band played on.

When she answered what position she played, Sawyer raised his brows with amusement, surprise widening his slightly. "The best position," he replied with a knowing nod. He would give her the benefit that she was a good Chaser. She would have to be in order to be Captain for three years, but he did doubt that she was as great as him. Sawyer knew better than to bring that up right now, letting his ego get in the way of a great night so far.
He was aware of every point of contact that their body made. Electricity sparking, flowing through his veins, charging his blood. The kiss was warm and needing, deep and wanting. Her hands dug into his hair, tousling the curls that were perfectly in place, but he didn't care. Liv deepened the kiss, and he eagerly obliged, pulling her closer to him, completely lost in her, drowning out the chaos that surrounded them. Unfortunately, she pulled away. His lips craved more. His body wanted more, but the night was just starting. Her smile was enchanting and teasing. The wizard was captivated, almost missing what she was saying as she pulled him to the dance floor. He pulled her close again, following with pace of the music, smiling widely at the witch.

Olivia had never felt quite like this before, the flames of desire burning her up inside and all she knew was she wanted more. She wanted to feel her body move with his so she pulled him on the dance floor, her lips spread into a dazzling smile as he pulled her close. The music surrounded them, bodies pressing into them as they danced along, but all that mattered was the feeling of his hands on her and his body pressed against hers. Her wrists crossed each other around his neck, her dark eyes lifting to meet his gaze. Their bodies moved effortlessly with the beat of the song. "I'm impressed," she told him after a few moments, her face tilting to look up at him. "I've always heard Americans had two left feet." Liv twirled out and back to him, her back pressing against his chest as she slid his hands from her hips to her stomach, her hips moving in time with the music. There was this tension between them that was so thick you could cut it with a knife, her body yearning to be closer and her lips craving his. Olivia turned her head to look at him with wanting eyes.
