The air was thick with tension, heat building between them making the room as hot as that summer night in July. Sawyer broke away, his hand grasping her chin and forcing her face up to look him in the eye. Olivia looked up at him through lidded eyes, feeling drunk on more than just alcohol. His low growl reached her ears and a shiver ran up her spine. "I hate you," she said, her voice thick with desire before his lips were crashing against hers again. They fell to the bed and Liv spent the rest of the night wrapped up in his arms, gazing at the stars that shined in her eyes.
She didn't know when she finally drifted off to sleep, but there was a heavy peace that covered her like a warm blanket as she dreamed. The forest was alight with sunshine that filtered through the canopies of the trees, speckling the ground with light as Liv ran happily. She looked over with a bright smile to see Sawyer running beside her, his hand in hers with a dazzling smile shining back at her. Her heart felt so full as they weaved through the trees, falling together on a bed of flowers.
When she opened her eyes again, the sun was filtering through the blinds, saturating the room with an orange glow. Olivia groaned at the dull ache in her head, smiling sleepily at the warmth of the body pressed up against her. She wiggled further back, wanting to soak in the blissful feeling, her hand pulling the arm draped over her waist closer. Turning, she went to snuggle up against him when her eyes caught sight of Sawyer's sleeping form. Liv froze, her body stiffening. The events of last night started to catch up to her and her face reddened as the heat rushed to it. He looked so peaceful right now, she almost didn't want to leave... What was she doing? Scrambling, Olivia crawled out of bed and bent down to pick up her clothes that were strewn across the floor.

Her voice was thick and heavy when she said she hated him, completely different than just a few months ago. Her voice on the Quidditch field had been full of malice. This one was full of need and want, everything that his had conveyed. His lips crashed against hers desperately, like she held the living saving breath after drowning. Sawyer fell with her to the bed, his hands tangling in her raven black hair, kissing her with each electrified moment.
Sawyer fell asleep with his arms draped around her. When he invited her into his room, he was wondering the sleeping arrangements, if they could tolerate sleeping in the same bed or if he would have to order a cot or extra blankets. They didn't even get to have that discussion. It was the last thing on their minds as their bodies connected in the way that they both had craved that last July night.
He woke up to a frantic movement from underneath him, throwing blankets off of him in the process. He opened his eyes immediately to see Olivia's figure on the ground, picking up her clothes. "I was that bad, huh," he asked, sitting up on his side.

His sudden voice made her jump, her heart beating frantically in her chest as she whipped around to look at him. He had sat up on his elbow and she couldn't help the way her eyes roved over his body, her cheeks flushing as she remembered what it felt like to have that body pressed against hers. Her arms wrapped around her body in an attempt to cover herself. It wasn't bad at all, but he knew that. That was part of the problem. "I just - I thought I -" she stammered a little, trying to collect her thoughts, but it was so hard when he was looking at her like that. "I should go."

He watched as her body tense and jump at his sudden voice breaking the silence. Olivia turned to him, wrapping her arms around her perfect body trying to cover herself, as if they had just spent the night appreciating each other's bodies. When she claimed she had to go, Sawyer gave her a little shake of his head and a devious smile. "Where are you going to go? Your room key doesn't work, remember," he asked, reminding her of the reason she was in his room in the first place.

She wanted to leave, but she had nowhere to go and she knew it. Of course she could always make her way down to the front desk and ask for a new key, but what if someone started asking questions? She couldn’t tell anyone that she stayed the night with Sawyer. His smile caused her heart to flutter, making him even more attractive than he already was. Why was he acting like this? Did he not still think her a monster? Liv swallowed, rooted to the spot. As much as she wanted to leave, there was a part of her that desperately wanted to stay. Her body yearned to be closer, to crawl back in bed with him and feel his arms wrap around her once more. Her mind was in overdrive fighting with her heart and body. A few moments passed before she finally took a tentative step forward. And then another. Breathing a sigh out of her nose, Olivia walked back to the bed and crawled back in, keeping some distance between them despite the urge to pull herself closer. She looked into his eyes, feeling confused about how he was feeling, unsure of what she was feeling. “I’m sorry,” she said at last, finally breaking her silence. “I don’t know where to go from here.”

He had hated this woman, told her that she would have been better off dead. Now, after dreaming of having a night with her for almost a year, it was even better than he had ever imagined. Sawyer definitely didn't want her dead, but...he didn't know what else. He couldn't be with her. She was still a werewolf, something he had grown sympathetic towards, but not anywhere close to forgiving the species for the loss of his friend.
Olivia returned to the bed, laying next to him, but not touching. Being with her felt amazing, but he couldn't give her more. She didn't know what to do next. He didn't either. He was hoping that if he caught her before she left, that they could tangle in each other once more. But her question altered everything, brought him back to reality.
"I can't give you more than that."

She should have known that it was coming, but a stupid, naive part of her thought that maybe… well, it didn’t matter what she thought, did it? He said the words and she couldn’t stop her heart from feeling it. Her eyes searched his, shining with tears that had started to form, the utter devastation washing over her. Her heart was pounding in her chest, her stomach twisting while her mind berated her for being so fucking stupid. She should have just left instead of crawling back in bed with him. Despite everything that he has said to her, she couldn’t stop herself from loving him. She understood now what she had been feeling and she hated herself for it. Hated that she gave into him, let him run his hands along her body, his lips against her skin. She let him give her the best night of her life just to rip her heart out the next morning. Her dark eyes started to harden, her sorrow turning to white hot lividity.
Liv sat up in bed and glared at him. “Fuck you,” she spat at him before she scoffed and swung her legs back over the side of the bed. Angrily, she picked up her clothes and dressed herself. Whirling around to face him, unable to resist laying into him, she said with hate in her voice, “You are the biggest piece of shit I have ever met in my entire life. I can’t believe I thought you were changing. I can’t believe I -” she cut off, letting out a huff as she looked away from him, unable to take looking at him anymore. “You know what?” She whipped her head back to glare at him with all the fire that was burning her up right now. “Thank you. Thank you for reminding me what an asshole you are.” Olivia looked at him one last time, disgusted with herself and with him, before picking up her heels and storming out of his room, slamming the door behind her.

Her reaction was explosive. Her whiskey eyes stared at him, tears pooling again. The sight made his stomach churn uneasily, his throat constricting, but he didn't know what to say or do. He couldn't force himself to be with her. It wouldn't be fair to either of them. Those eyes then hardened as cursed at him. Sawyer couldn't take his eyes off of her when she dressed and berated him. She claimed that she said that she thought he had been changing, but he had. Didn't she see how much he had? He had told her just several months ago that the world would be better off dead. Now he was helping a werewolf family; he kissed her. That was so much for him, but it wasn't enough for her.
Olivia thanked him for reminding him how awful he was. His chest was heavy. His stomach was knotting uncomfortably. She was moving toward the door when he stood up, calling her name. "Liv-," was all he got out before she slammed the door in his face.
