Mid afternoon, 4th of May Seated against the wall
Most students avoided the Hog's head for obvious reasons. But Jay prided herself on being different and sought out ways to be as different as she could be. She was not trying too hard, trying hard implied that it took a lot of effort. If anything going to the Hog's Head was easier, less busy, quiter, Jay could actually find a place to sit. Which was probably a good thing because if Jay had been standing she might've fallen over. As it was, she was having a hard time catching her breath and trying very hard to be cool. She was failing, Jay was sure she was failing to be cool. How could she be cool when she was standing in the same room as Mickey Chevalier! He was only her all time favourite musician ever! Merlin his lyrics?! They told stories, they had emotion, they made Jay feel like she was listening to her visions instead of seeing them. Heck, his music was what had given her the idea to use her visions as inspiration for her lyrics in the first place! He.Was. Everything!Oh dear sweet fuck-berry-pie Jay was sure he was looking at her!

Each of the band members had one assigned security guard, but today Mickey was free to venture out on his own. His guard, Leto was currently on assignment with Roman's guard Ellis to keep the hormone driven drummer in check. Roman had been spending all his free time with one guy or the next. He'd been sneaky enough to avoid Ellis on several occasions, so Harry had doubled down on him. Roman had complained that their manager was being a bore, but it was for his own good. Miles' guard was named Tony. He was happy enough staying back at the pad and watching Miles flirt with groupies, swim, and honestly just live his best life. It was better than running around town.
Harry had deemed Mickey the responsible one, so off he'd went to the post office to write Naomi back. She'd been begging to hear about his adventures in the UK. She wanted to know if he would go to Hogwarts and see the school. He doubted he'd get permission to do such a thing. Maybe he could try to get Harry to talk with the powers that be and give the students a complimentary performance. Roman and Miles wouldn't mind at all. When he finished at the post office, he found a music store. It was probably not the place to be if he wanted to get out of the spotlight, but it was hard to resist a small peek inside Dervish and Banges. He'd done a lot of ducking and diving since he'd arrived in Hogsmeade. It seemed that some of the Hogwarts students were out on a pass of sorts. He'd heard a few of the younger children speaking about a thing called Hogsmeade Weekend. Things were really different when compared to Ilvermorny. He browsed the shelves, fingers running over old records as he tried to decide what would be good to bring back to their temporary housing.
Right when he'd found something worth listening to, a few older students swarmed him like sharks in a frenzy. Teenagers were sometimes worse than adults. They didn't really know when to back off, and he was trying to have an easy day. No one could ever accuse him of being stuck up. He loved his fans, so Mickey was happy enough to sign their merchandise and take pictures with them. Eventually, he disappeared through a backdoor. Keeping his head low, he found his way to the Hog's Head. This didn't look like a place where teens ventured, so he sat down for a drink and let himself decompress.
He was sipping on his drink when he felt someone staring at him. His head turned to see a young girl sitting by herself. Mickey gave her a bright smile and waved. What else was he supposed to do? Tell her to scram? Nah, he wasn't that type of person.
Notes: It's perfect. I love her enthusiasm. Sorry for the length. I got excited.

Letting out the least dignified ' Eep!' of her life Jay blushed, in fact, Jay would go as far as to say that she was blushing aggressively in embarrassment at having been caught staring. Her eyes were wide, like dinner plate wide, back ramrod straight she froze up like a deer in headlights. Recap: Jay wasn't nearly as cool as she'd previously thought. Her idol, not just musically, but in like everything, that sort of idol, was in the same shitty, dirty, grimmy pub in a tiny little magical village. Mickey Chevalier was in Hogsmeade village and looking right at Jay. He was waving at her. ' Quick, what do I do?' Jay thought to herself. ' Punch yourself in the face,' Kyle the dickhead voice in the back of her head thought back. ' Why?!' She could just see her stupid intrusive thoughts Kyle shrugging in the back of her head. ' To see if you're dreaming?' He was clearly coming up with that reason on the spot. Jay ignored him, he sucked and never had a single helpful thing to think. Unfreezing, after a solid second of panicked thinking, Jay simply waved back with all the grace of your standard issue fifteen year old starstruck girl. Eyes dropping to her table Jay gripped her seat for dear life. Every fiber of her being was screaming for Jay to either flee the Hogs Head and die of embarrassment in the Shrieking Shack or go up to Mickey Chevalier and make the best of a once in a lifetime opportunity and talk to him. Oh man she had like a billion things to say to him, Jay could probably talk to him for a year and still find new things to say to him. Too much repressed fangirl energy, Jay felt like her brain was blue screening while she worked to comprehend a new world order. One in which her idol had just waved at her. It was harder than it should've been, that was coming from a girl who'd had her first vision of death when she was eight years old. Yeah, seeing someone die had been easier to handle than this. In the end, Jay remained frozen in indecision while her brain reset.
Notes: It's perfect. I love her enthusiasm. Sorry for the length. I got excited.

I think I broke her. Mickey's single thought made him chuckle a bit. The poor kid looked as though she were in total shock. A deer in the headlights if you will. He dropped his hand to the table and waited, wondering if she was going to cross the room and say hello, or fade out of existence. He had always figured celebrities walked through this place more often than not. Quidditch was pretty big here and a lot of Hogwarts alumni were Pro players. Was music different? He didn't have the answer, and didn't plan on thinking too hard on it. Instead, he casually took a swig of his beer. Day drinking was overrated, but he was in a band, and they did plenty of it. Miles was convinced it was the cure for a bad hangover. Mickey had yet to see the results. Thankfully, today he'd been nice and free of a pounding headache.
Finally, the girl waved. Ah, so she was still functioning, that was good. He watched as her gaze dropped to her table, and he took that as a sign to let things be. He went back to his drink until the waiter came over to ask if he needed anything else. Mickey was about to tell her no, but an idea came to him. "Yes. You see that girl over there? You mind telling her it's okay if she wants to come sit at my table? I think she's a little shy." He could deal with one teenage fan, just not a whole crowd. As the waitress nodded and started to walk off, Mickey had another thought. "Wait. Sorry. Before you go. You mind giving her this?" He pulled a guitar pick out of his pocket. It was custom made, designed with the image of the single he'd wrote: Can You Hear Me. Engraved on the back was his name, in his handwriting. It had become customary that he have a single guitar pick made for each of the singles and albums they created. He'd given away the one for Pitch Black back in Ontario and the one for Father of the Year was given away in America. Mickey already had a person in mind for the Little Kitten pick.
Anyway, if the girl decided to freak out and ditch, at least she'd have proof that she had an encounter with him. He didn't want her to think back on this moment and think she'd missed an opportunity because she'd been afraid. It was a small gift, but it said he'd seen her. That he'd acknowledged her. And maybe that would be enough to make her day.

Mentally berating herself for being a total dork in front of the coolest human being on the planet, Jay didn't notice much about going on around her. She was trying to hide, praying for a black hole to swallow her up, mostly she just wanted to escape her own awkwardness. People said that Gryffindors were supposed to be brave and bold but Jay was feeling neither at the moment.
Oblivious to what was going down across the room.
When the waitress showed up, Jay jumped, no at all expecting anyone to talk to her. Wide eyes only grew wider as Jay was handed an engraved guitar pick. It had the cover of his 'Can You Hear Me' single and his name on it and everything! Apparently it was from The Mickey Chevalier from Echoes of Betrayal, he was just the best lyricist Jay knew of! She would even argue that he was the best in the world. Taking the pick Jay could swear she heard angels singing somewhere, or maybe it was all in her head.
As if that wasn't awesome enough he had even invited Jay to sit with him at his table!
Jay might be a lot of things but she was not a complete idiot most of the time.
She took a moment, glancing between Mickey Chevalier, the guitar pick, and back again. Then she shot up, picked up her things, and marched over to Mickey Chevalier like a robot on a mission. The whole way to Mickey Chevalier the young Seer tried to think of something not lame to say to him. She did not want to be like every other fan out there! She wanted to seem actually cool.
The walk to his table felt like an eternity.
Yet, it still wasn't long enough to think of something to say. "Hi." She managed to squeak out say. At least she managed to say something?

While the young girl contemplated her options, Mickey finished the last of his beer and picked up his fork to start into the blueberry pie that he'd ordered. He'd had better, but this was better than nothing. Mickey enjoyed trying the different dishes of each place they visited. Nothing would ever be as good as his mother's homemade dishes. He leaned back in his seat as he took another bite of pie, savoring the taste. When the colorful haired teen finally got up and started towards him, the guitarist sat up straight. She looked like a robot walking over to him. He wanted to tell her to relax. When she finally finished her short journey, she got a squeak of a greeting out and Mickey gave her a sympathetic smile. "Hey, how's it going? Feel free to take a seat. I won't bite, that'd be considered cannibalism." He tapped the table. "Grab a slice of pie if you like." He had no problem with talking to people normally. He wasn't the type to have this air of authority about him just because he had a little fame. Mickey preferred to be legit. Maybe it was his upbringing that had made him so humble. "What's your name?"

Jay had never been so excited she thought she might vomit before. But in the moment, with The Mickey Chevalier waving her over to his table, Jay felt so excited she thought she might vomit. Which was worrying because vomiting in front of her idol would be so embarrassing that she'd probably die.
Not needing to be told twice, Jay took the seat across from Mickey Chevalier. "It's going so much better than I thought it'd go this morning." She answered him, more excited than nervous now that she was actually talking to her idol. "How's it going for you?"
Glancing down at the pie then back up to Mickey Chevalier the girl hesitated. "Are you sure it's okay?" She asked, having to doubled check because eating pie with a world famous musician sounded like a dream she had last month. Could visions leak into dreams? Merlin help her, Jay hoped not. She'd had some really weird dreams.
"Sybella Lavoie the 24th, but I prefer Jay," The answer felt like muscle memory, it was autopilot, she always told people she went by Jay, it was easier to go by nicknames within the family. "And your Mickey Chevalier, aren't you?"

"That's good. A good morning makes the day go by easy." The musician smiled at her honesty. He was always happy to make someone's day. There was just something about smiling fans and good moods that made him equally happy. He was like a leech, but a good one. Empath. That was the word that described him. Mickey was always happiest when everyone else around him was happy too. She asked about his morning, and he hummed a bit. "Productive," he answered. It had been for the most part, right up until he was swarmed by teenage girls. Mickey chuckled inwardly at the thought.
"Absolutely. I'm not going to eat it all by myself. Whatever we don't eat, I'll just take it home to the guys. Roman's bound to be delighted about anything sweet." He grinned. Roman was such a little kid. He blinked when she introduced herself. Sybella Lavoie the 24th. That was a wild name. He couldn't imagine being at a family gathering trying to call for Sybella, only to have multiple people respond. Mickey picked up a piece of pie with his fork, his mind wandering a bit. What was it like to have a family gathering? He didn't recall his birth mother mentioning her parents, grandparents, or siblings. His adoptive family did well enough with small gatherings every so often. Everyone treated him fairly, but wouldn't it be great to meet his biological grandparents and any possible aunts and aunties, nieces and nephews, cousins?! Mickey tried not to get too hopeful. Maybe his mother had been an only child. "Jay it is."
Mickey took a bite of the pie, chewed, and swallowed before answering. "The one and only," he answered. "Nice to meet you, Jay."

Trying to be cool Jay fought down the urge to give her idol a crazy fan girl grin. Unable to stop herself from being nosy Jay asked, "Productive how?" curiosity eating her up inside. Then it hit her: Jay ws being rude, and nosy, and just fuck! She did not want to give Mickey Chevalier a bad impression! "Sorry! You don't have to answer that," Jay rushed to fix her blunder, "I'm being too nosy, sorry."
"Well, okay then, thank you!" Jay took Mickey Chevalier up on his offer of pie.
Jay Lavoie was eating pie with The Mickey Chevalier! It felt like the best day of her life. Which was probably wrong but if there had been a better day then Jay couldn't think of it at the moment!
Stabbing her fork into her own slice of pie Jay shrugged at the look on Mickey Chevalier's face when she gave her name, it wasn't uncommon for people to raise a brow at Jay's name. Say that she was 'Sybella the 24th' sounded weighty even to Jay, but leaving out the '24th' part felt disrespectful to her whole extended family. "Yeah my family is big into traditions, I don't know if it's a seer thing or not, but it's definitely a Lavoie thing," Jay explained, she often felt the need to explain and defend her parent's choice of names. Just because Jay wasn't exactly into the family busy didn't mean she was about to go around shitting on the part of her family that was into all the traditional shit. "But as you can imagine there's a lot of Sybella Lavoies, so a lot of us go by middle names or nicknames. Less confusing at family gatherings."
Grinning Jay felt like she was about to burst with excitement. "It's nice to meet you too sir!" She answered brightly.
