Character History:
Born to an English father and French mother; the Tremaines grew up in the French Riviera until the older children, twins Emeraude and Roux, started their education at Hogwarts.
Cerise entered the world wailing at the top of her little lungs, her little face red as a cherry as the crying continued for the rest of the night. She was a handful as she grew but it was all worth it the second she would flash a bright smile at her exasperated parents. That’s how Cerise lives life to this day. She knows she can be a bit ditzy and careless, but she never means any harm. She puts extra effort into making it up to the people who get caught in her messes.
From a young age, Cerise has been fascinated with potions; her great, great grandmother spent her whole life creating multiple love potions which earned her great accolades. When Cerise arrived at Hogwarts, she got swept up in the myth of her ancestor, something her older sister Emeraude tried to avoid. Cerise was the first one in her seat every morning for Potions and over the years she managed to stay atop of her class. She was never really interested in love potions but as her peers grew into young adults, they would come to her for help. Of course, she couldn’t actually make anyone fall in love, but she liked playing Cupid and sometimes she could provide a little push. Her potions often wear off after a couple days and they’re not very strong. They usually only work on people who already have those feelings but are too shy to admit it. She thinks it’s all just fun and games, thankfully no one has been hurt in the process.

Everything happened so fast.
One minute, she was in bed with Dane and the next… well…
Romy looked down at the ring on her left hand. It was so exquisitely beautiful; a white gold band with an Akoya pearl in the center, surrounded by diamond accents. It belonged to his mother’s grandmother, an old relic from a pureblood family’s past, kept close and guarded until it found its way to Romy’s ring finger. He had been wearing it on a gold chain around his neck for a while now, claiming that it was a good luck charm. And with the year his family had, it was a much needed lucky charm. She should have been grateful that he was happy to part with it in order to give it to her. He had kept one of the diamonds from the ring and made a smaller charm for his necklace, to always have her close to him, he said.
“You look so beautiful,” his sister’s voice pulled her back to the present. Romy looked into the floor length mirror, giving Vivian a small smile. The brunette finished clasping a diamond earrings on Romy's ear and her hands gently squeezed Romy’s shoulders. They both looked into the reflection of the mirror smiling, but Romy didn’t recognize herself no matter how hard she tried. The black dress clung onto every curve of her body, dipping low on her chest and even lower on her back. Her lipstick a shade too red, her hair too perfectly coiffed. She didn’t look like the carefree girl that had walked into the dreary underbelly of the Ministry’s second level a couple months ago.
But she wasn’t going to complain. This is how they celebrated and she was going to be part of this family. Besides, this was meant to be one of the happiest days of her life. Her father wasn’t ecstatic when he learned the news, but when was Clark Carter ever really happy? There was nothing he could do now that everyone knew. At least it seemed like the whole wizarding world knew as Romy stood with her now fiancé - god, that word felt weird to say or think -, watching the sea of faces in front of them. His arm wrapped around her waist, it almost felt like he was in a hurry to touch her, and his hand gently settled on her hip. He was keeping her close for comfort in the crowded room.
Romy couldn’t remember half the people that came up to congratulate them; Ministry officials, Quidditch players, journalists, family members from both sides. If her father had any reservations about the joining of their families, the positive, free publicity from the engagement was definitely going to melt all of it away. It was all so overwhelming for Romy, despite being someone who enjoyed being around others, and she couldn’t help but down the remainder of her champagne. Everything felt so blurry - faces, names, titles. Truthfully, life had been a blur since he got down on one knee and asked her the question.
Then Vivian swooped in, peeling Romy away from her fiancé.
“Sorry, Mr Caspar, you can’t hog the bride all night. Not yet, at least.” Vivian joked with her brother as she pulled Romy away, throwing him a wink for good measure.
Romy had never been more relieved in her life, she couldn’t take another cheek kiss from a stranger. Vivian’s long, shiny hair swayed with each step she took, she was so animated as she made talk with Romy, linking arms with her. Romy couldn’t help but give her a smile, a real one this time. Vivian was so vibrant when she was away from her husband - a husky man with a personality so dreadfully sour that it made Romy wonder how the two of them even ended up together in the first place.
“There’s a couple more people I want you to meet, real family members,” Vivian added the last part quickly. Romy understood, the other Caspar boys had been missing most of the night and she figured they finally decided to show their faces. Vivian pushed herself up on her heels and scanned the room until she seemed to spot the person she was looking for. They made a beeline toward the corner of the large room where two men were engaged in a conversation. One of them had his back to them, but Romy recognized the other one - he was leaning in whispering in a hurry - he had introduced himself as the family lawyer earlier in the night. It was odd, Romy thought, that Vivian was so keen on introducing them again.
But he wasn't Vivian's target. She released Romy's arm and placed a hand on the other man's shoulder, pulling him around to face them without warning.
"Rosemary, I want you to meet our brother," Vivian said, dropping her hand from his shoulder once she got his attention. Vivian held her hand out, presenting the young man to Romy.
"Dane."
Everything stopped; the world and her heart. The smile she had prepared for their introduction slowly faded and Romy felt paralyzed. He couldn't be here, she shouldn't be here. There was nothing to say or do as she stayed firmly cemented to her spot, but wide eyes searched the familiar shade of green in his eyes for a sign that none of it was real.
