It had only been a few days since Elio asked her to be his girlfriend and Olivia was trying to soak in all the happiness that comes with a new relationship, but there was one person who was really making it difficult to. Elio is an amazing wizard. He's funny and he's kind, charming, talented, so gracious and so generous. Olivia really liked him, but there was a part of her that continued to whisper he wasn't Sawyer. It was frustrating, maddening, really. Her body and her heart refused to let her forget that, while being with Elio felt good, being with Sawyer felt better. But the two of them could never be together, despite their chemistry, despite that undeniable connection that pulled them together. Perhaps it wasn't fair to Elio, but she refused to wait around for someone who hated what she was at the core of his being. It was better for everyone if she moved on and who better than Elio Day?
She was honestly shocked at how quickly the media caught wind of their relationship, but the day after they officially got together she saw pictures of herself and Elio kissing in some tabloids. The Falcons' charming beater Elio Day has gotten together with the Wasps' werewolf chaser Olivia Moretti. Of fucking course, they couldn't go one time without mentioning that she was a werewolf. She hated how much media attention she's already gotten thanks to Sawyer. The tabloids were annoying, but Olivia was happy to see herself and her father featured in the Prophet detailing their charity fundraiser they put together, funding Lycamp year-round for all the werewolves in the area to live, supplying them with Wolfsbane. Liv cut out the article and stuck it inside her locker. The rest of it goes on to talk about the pro-creature stance her father has taken and the things he's pushing for at the Ministry.
It was a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon when Elio decided they should go to Diagon Alley, go shopping and make a day out of it. Get ice cream, a drink, whatever she wanted. Liv smiled warmly at him and wrapped her arms around his torso, pulling herself in. "I think that sounds amazing." A warm kiss later and they were walking hand in hand through the cobbled streets. There were so many new shops that she wanted to explore, but the thing that she really wanted was some new gear. The plates in her armguards cracked yesterday during practice and they just came out with a new line. Liv wanted to upgrade everything and get some good broom polish. They started to make their way toward the Quidditch supplies shop when she almost ran into someone coming out of a nearby store. "Oh!" She was getting ready to tell them to watch where they were going when she looked up into the face of Romy Carter.
"Rose!" she exclaimed, unsure if they were on good enough terms to refer to her as Romy. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." Liv stepped back and offered a small, half-hearted smile. Her dark gaze flicked over to Max who was with her. "Max," she greeted him with a nod. Elio had been looking on with curious eyes. Olivia turned to him, suddenly remembering her manners. "Elio, this is Rosemary and Max. We went to school together." Elio offered a happy grin and held his hand out to each of them. "Elio Day, nice to meet you both. Max Caspar, right?" he said, wagging his pointer finger at him. "Ballycastle. You guys gave us a run for our money last month."

This was the fourth shop Max had pulled Romy into, making what should have been a quick obligatory trip much longer than it should have been. She rarely went out with him these days despite being engaged to the Quidditch star and when he managed to get her for a day, he showered her with gifts she didn’t want or need.
“That’s a lovely choice,” the woman behind the jewelry counter said to Romy. Max was currently at the opposite side of the shop talking about Quidditch with a fan and signing whatever the wizard shoved into his hands. Romy looked up from the dainty diamond necklace Max had chosen for her before he was pulled away. She offered the woman a smile but didn’t say anything.
“It really compliments the earrings he got you,” another, younger witch joined the conversation.
Earrings? Romy had no idea what she was talking about. Before she could voice her thoughts the girl continued, “When he came in last time he was so excited to get your birthday present.”
Romy’s birthday wasn’t for another seven months.
The two witches looked over at Max as he made his way back to them and one of them sighed, “You’re so lucky.”
Romy was looking up at Max as they exited the shop, wondering what that was about because he definitely didn’t give her any earrings, and she almost collided with Olivia. The other witch stared back at her and for a second Romy thought there was going to be another confrontation but Olivia changed her tune real quick. Maybe it had to do with the very handsome man standing next to her. Elio’s smile was bright and Romy could see the warmth radiating off him.
“Nice to meet you,” Romy said as he shook her hand. Immediately, the two men gravitated towards each other. Romy stood back and let her gaze wander over to Olivia, giving her a small smile.
“My family’s shop is right down the street if you want to join me,” Romy only caught part of the conversation. Her mind was elsewhere which was typical these days. She had a whole other life she was anxious to get back to.
And then they were at Caspar Quidditch. There was a cute witch restocking some of the shelves and Vivienne was nowhere to be found. It didn’t surprise Romy that she hired someone to look after the shop instead of working herself but she did wonder how much she was even able to pay an employee when she had no money of her own. When the four of them first entered the store, there were only two customers but there was a small crowd gathering in just minutes and Romy had to move herself away from the commotion. She didn’t want to be photographed with Max. So she found herself near the back of the shop by the wall covered in Max’s quidditch posters. This whole place was like a small shrine to the youngest Caspar. Romy hated it.

Max and Elio hit it off immediately. Liv was watching the two of them interact, somewhat amused at how easily Elio made friends. It reminded her of how friendly Sawyer could be, her amusement turning sour as thoughts of him started to consume her. She stood off to the side with Romy, looking over at her as she felt her eyes on her. Liv smiled back and shrugged, falling into step behind them as they started heading off in a different direction. The girls were quiet as they walked along the cobbled streets. Olivia didn't know about Romy, but her mind was racing. She chewed on her bottom lip as they kept walking. When she was with Elio, it was easier to stop thinking about Sawyer, but when he wasn't paying attention to her - like now - she couldn't stop the thoughts from coming. Her mind kept replaying last Monday over and over again.
Oh, that's right, she thought as they entered the shop. Max's family owned a Quidditch supplies store here. The boys went off on their own, still chatting animatedly, and Olivia drifted toward the gear section. A crowd was starting to form around the guys as Liv looked through the armplates, finding the ones she wanted and grabbing them. Her basket was full of new gear and even her favorite broom polish. Squeezing through the crowd was a little more difficult than Olivia would have liked, but she managed to get through to pay for her items. Holding her bag in her hand, she turned to see Elio and Max signing autographs. She assumed she hadn't been recognized, something she was grateful for, and she moved toward the back of the store to wait for the crowd to die down. Her eyes lifted from the ground to see Romy standing by herself surrounded by posters of Max Caspar. Liv stood beside her, her gaze flicking back to the boys. "Well, they really hit it off," she commented. She looked over at Romy and smiled, glancing over at the posters behind her. "Those are kind of creepy, no?"

Why? Because they weren’t posters of her? The thought quickly faded from her mind, thankfully, before she could say it out loud. But was she wrong? Romy gave her a small smile and shrugged.
“I suppose this is Max’s world and we’re all just living in it.” What was that? Was she channeling Dane and speaking for him? Dane had never said the words but it was obvious that Max was spoiled by everyone else in the family. The more time she spent trapped in this engagement, the more she resented Max. She had to find a way out but she couldn’t seem to figure it out.
“Your friend seems nice,” she motioned to Elio and Max. They had matching smiles as they talked to their fans. Romy didn’t want to pry and she didn’t keep up with Olivia’s life to know if they were more than friends. She did, however, hear about her and Stella and Caty from Max on occasion. It’s the only reason she knew Stella was dating Sam Spade and Olivia was involved somehow with someone on her team?
“Be careful, Max might steal him from you.” It was a joke, obviously, but was there a trend for the Caspar men?

Her brows pulled together slightly at her comment, a small laugh falling out of her. She looked back to Elio and Max still surrounded by the crowd that only seemed to grow larger. Olivia had never given Max Caspar much thought during their school years. His family wasn't the kind of family hers would interact with and Max had always held this innocence that Liv couldn't stand.
Romy called Elio her friend and, for some reason, Olivia didn't correct her. Her gaze was pulled back to him, watching him as he smiled that blinding smile to each of his fans. Her heart warmed at the sight for a brief moment before something tugged at it, reminding her for the thousandth time that he wasn't Sawyer. She was growing more and more frustrated at herself the more this happened. Elio was everything she could ever want, she should be head over heels for him. "He is," she said at last, smiling as Romy warned her that Max might steal him. "That would be something, wouldn't it?"
