Hello!
My name is Steph and I don't like talking about myself, but here are a few things to help you understand how my mind works.
I am really shy (and this isn't me saying it in a 'i'm a cute little girl, so shy so cute' kind way), it's been a problem since I can remember. I moved to the US when I was little and not knowing the language made it difficult for me to make friends. I actually learned English by reading the first Harry Potter book so I've always had a strong connection to the series. If you are ever reading some of my threads and notice that something looks off, like the way I word things, it's because despite speaking English for over 25 years, I still sometimes get a little confused.
My roleplaying experience began on MSN chat rooms when I was 11 - I had no business being there! By the time I was 13, I had moved on to proboards and was helping run a site - again, no business doing any of this at my age. Hogwarts TNG (The Next Generation) was the first time I felt like I had real friends even though they were behind a computer screen. It closed down after five years in 2010 without warning from the admin, the other members were a few years older than me and by this time they had gone off to college and started their own families so the site had slowed down significantly.
2010 was without a doubt the most significant year of my young adult life. I had just graduated HS and with nothing to do all summer I went in search of something to occupy my time. I stumbled across HM one day and the rest is history. HM was the most chaotic, fun place full of creative people. Shout out to Car and my sweet baby child Lamp (mom loves you!!). This is the year I met Travis! I've never, ever connected with anyone the way I have with him. He was by far the best part of HM (but don't tell him I said that). Writing with Travis is an amazing experience and he helped shape the way I write, showing me that it didn't have to be so serious all the time. I had real fun writing for the first time. He's like my best friend or whatever. And if you ever see us in the chatbox and I'm being mean to him - you didn't see anything.
Beyond Hallows has been a dream that Travis and I shared back in 2015. It took us almost a decade to come back to it but I'm so extremely happy that it's finally coming to fruition and that you all have decided to join us. I know some admin are intimidating and while I usually keep to myself, I promise I do not bite. I'm always here if you need help with anything.
If you are interested in roleplaying with me you should know; I'm probably the slowest writer here. I will take days to reply but I will get to it (one time it took me six months to reply to Travis). I'm almost always working so I don't have a lot of free time to write. You will, however, find me spamming the games on any given day because it's easy and fun and it takes one second to post while I hide my phone screen from my boss. Feel free to join me!
Fun facts (or just facts):
- I said I don't bite but I'm a Latina with a big attitude despite only being like 5 feet tall.
- My real name is Steph - kinda. Estephany - but most people seem to have a hard time pronouncing it??
- I'm terrified of whales. Or more like, sea creatures. But mostly whales. I've never seen one irl.
- I love music and musicals but I cannot sing to save my life. I'm pretty sure I'm tone deaf.
- I get distracted easily so if we're ever having a conversation and I disappear, I'm sorry!!
- ALSO I can't sing well but my favorite pastime is putting on really sad songs and sobbing along to them
- I love the rain and I unfortunately live in the Southern Cali desert. My dream is to one day move somewhere cold.
