It had been decent while since Hailey's cat had past, probably due to age; it was hard to say because Kitana had been a rescue and thus Hailey had never been sure of her age. Rescue or not, she'd loved Kitana more than ninety percent of people she'd met. Maybe more, Hailey didn't like most people. Of course, Hailey put up with them, she had enough social intelligence and grace to not voice her thoughts all the time.
Sadly, Kitana was gone, and even if Hailey did have an all right flatmate she missed animal companionship. People could be okay and all but nothing was better than a warm drink and a cat purring on your lap after a long hard day of stitching people back together. Hailey missed that.
Actually, Hailey had been missing it for months or maybe she just hadn't stopped missing Kitana? Hard to say that, but a year and half seemed like a long enough wait. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't Hailey wasn't sure, but she was sure that she wouldn't be leaving Menagerie without a new cat.
She just had to find the right cat.
A slight frown on her face Hailey walked through the shop, she was still in her healer's robes having swung by after working a double. She wanted to go home, but not to an empty home (Levi would already be at work himself). Kittens were cute, did she want a kitten? Then there were older cats, calmer sure, but did she want an older cat again? Hailey was acutely aware of how much less time she'd have with a cat if she got an older one instead of a kitten. The dilemma had Hailey stalled, just wandering up and down the same area looking at all the cats, then looking at them all again.
