Valentine's Day | The Crooked Chimney | Early Evening
Shiloh was feeling more sure of her new normal everyday. That didn't mean she still wasn't hurt and confused by Danny. She was just learning breaking up with her was his loss, not hers. That's what she told herself whenever she got emotional about it all. Mostly she felt stupid she had been taken advantage of and silly that she missed the arse from time to time. For the most part, she'd been able to go about her life unchanged, focused on the wand shop, just slightly more lonely after work. The one big change for her was that the bars and restaurants she had enjoyed going to weren't all safe. She wasn't ready to bump into Danny again. Not yet. So she needed to find safe places or new ones. One of her old favorites was safe. The Crooked Chimney was in a small village north of Godric's Hollow. Danny hated the place. It had been a favorite of hers.
It was almost exclusively frequented by witches and wizards but the occasional muggle would wander down the deserted alley and find the entrance. It was always entirely clear when that happened, a small lamp was lit behind the bar when a muggle was in the house to notify the others. Wand checks were required before being seated to ensure no muggle accidently got through unaware. Most Muggles assumed there was nothing at the end of the quiet street. And every muggle who had the good fortune to enter were given a small amount of forgetfulness potion before sent on their way. Word of mouth wasn't going to bring a crowd of nonmagical residents. She kind of liked the thrill and potential of having to hide in plain sight.
She'd been there several times when it had in fact been visited by a muggle and she got the sense that the staff and patrons got a kick out of pretending it was a normal place that had always been there. Stepping up to the host's desk, she gave her name for the reservation she made when she realized she invited Cara and Sammy out on Valentines Day of all days. All three of them were busy with their jobs. Trying to find time to get together had been a challenge. After they settled on the day, she wondered if her oldest friend and newest friend had picked the day on purpose to make sure she wasn't spending her day alone.
She was led back to a corner table with a good view of the dining area while providing privacy. She had beaten Sammy and Cara there. Shiloh was really excited for Sammy and Cara to meet. Things between her and Sammy were still a little awkward. How could it not be? Shiloh hoped meeting with another person might take the edge off their unresolved issues and ease them both back in to their friendship. Looking around it didn't appear that the place was a popular spot for couples in love or lust. That was good. Most patrons appeared to be minding their own business. The light behind the bar wasn't lit. That made sense to her. It would be a strange night to find a muggle. Looking the drink menu over, she was really looking forward to a night out for fun.
