Character History: Born ten minutes later than her twin sister, he has never vacated the spot behind her all their lives. No matter how difficult she is making it, he will always have her back.
Growing up Parker would not have described his family as particularly loving. Certainly, they belonged together and all loved in their own ways but he always felt the tension even when no harsh words were exchanged. He was glad that Poppy followed in their father’s footsteps (though he would never tell her or their mother), because it meant that she had at least one of their parents on her side, and father’s hope would not then fall on him. He did not have the stomach for the work father did, quite literally. The one time he joined his father and sister, he almost threw up from the guilt and fear.
Receiving the Hogwarts letter Parker was more excited than he had ever been for something, but their father getting arrested for nothing less than murder turned the happiness to ash in his mouth. He struggled for a long time, and is still, with how to deal with this revelation. He wants to condemn him for it, wants to never speak to him again, but cutting him out of his life and his heart is something he finds himself unable to do. He does not want to cut out someone who is so important to his sister. So he holds onto the hope that there must be some redeeming circumstance, that he is not a bad person and it was all a misunderstanding.
Arriving at Hogwarts, Parker turned out to be something close to a Hat stall with the Hat attempting to put him into Hufflepuff, but from what little he had been able to read about the Hogwarts houses beforehand, he knew that was not where Poppy would end up and he refused to let her go alone. Whether the Hat knew where it would place Poppy before touching her head, Parker did not know and he did not care when it chose Gryffindor for both of them.
Throughout their first few school years, Parker mostly kept his head down and in his books, only occasionally trying to soften his sister’s edges, but he knew that he was fighting a lost battle there. The thought that he might go home for the holidays instead of staying at school with his sister quickly went up in flames along with some of the letters their mother sent him. She never spoke badly of Poppy in her letters to him, not directly, but he could practically feel the animosity of disappointed expectations and so he made his stand - with his sister.
This decision was only cemented as time went on and their mother made their disappointment more and more known. Not that Poppy did not do her best to earn it, but Parker had made up his mind and allegiance. He could truly be a headstrong Gryffindor.
When in their third year Poppy was gainsaid the right to go to Hogsmeade with later on their mother refusing to sign the permission form, Parker for the first time proved himself a true Gryffindor as he swallowed his fear and doubts to make it happen even without their mother by taking Poppy to see their father. He would never tell her that he brewed a couple of potions during his tutoring to help with his nerves and keep the contents of his stomach where they belonged, but it turned out that it was all well worth it. He will never forget that meeting between his sister and father.
It might be that he imagines it because it’s what he wants to see, but he feels like Poppy carries less weight with her now that she has father’s letters. Maybe this is what will get her onto the right track - unlikely as that is. In the meantime Parker just continues to do what he does best - work hard and maybe, hopefully even become a prefect next year. It might keep Poppy out of some trouble at least (to have one prefect less on her heels).
For his part, Parker has been able to make a few good friends and settle quite well in the wizarding world, reading everything he can get his hands on to get more of a grip of this foreign world. At the same time though, writing is his true passion and what he does when nobody is looking. Starting with journaling and fiction but going as far as almost philosophical musings and observational reports, only one or two people have ever seen writing that is not his class work.

Role Playing Sample: From colours and shapes, images form in Sera's dream world. Flowing flecks of white and grey solidify into angular marble columns, throwing the pale flagstone floor into shadow underneath elegant arches. The bright sound of expensive heels on a hard surface echoes around the archway, but is swallowed by the lush greenery of the inner courtyard. Sera sees herself running past column upon column, her pale golden dress trailing behind her in clouds of fabric, a smile of true happiness on her face. She can barely contain her laughter as she stops her flight abruptly and ducks behind one of the pillars, though she is far from hidden with her billowing dress sweeping gently about her and crystal clear giggles erupting from behind her fingers. But her intent is not to be hidden for long, merely to prolong the game for the one chasing after her. His soft-brown locks tumbling about his sun kissed face, there is a smile touching his gentle eyes as his laugh echoes hers. The open brocade vest does nothing to cover his defined chest and his muscles ripple as he runs and quickly spots his prey. One hand on the marble, he spins to face her, just as he catches himself by bracing his other arm on the column too, effectively trapping her between his warm, agitated breath and the cold stone. His bulging arms on either side of her head, she threads her fingers through the soft hair at the back of his neck to bring his smiling lips down closer to her. She can smell the cinnamon on his breath when suddenly an earth shattering scream of pain erupts from his lungs…
