Character History:
Zach was the long awaited first (and only) child of a loving, very average sort of family who'd been trying for a child for a fair few years before he came along. They called him their 'miracle', although they never investigated into why they'd struggled to conceive, they were simply happy to have fallen pregnant and for that pregnancy to be smooth sailing. He was born, raised, loved, cherished, encouraged and supported throughout all of his formative years. Magic was a staple within their little family, his mother is a former Gryffindor at Hogwarts and now working as a potions specialist with a strong focus on herbology to supply her own ingredients for many of the potions she specialises in. His father, a former Ravenclaw, worked within the Ministry as some fancy paper pusher for multiple departments, there was more to his job but the man didn't often like to speak of his work so as Zach grew his father's work was a mystery to him. He found that more fascinating than the reality, which, now he's grown, he was sure his father knew.
When he reached the age of eleven it wasn't a surprise to receive an invitation for him to attend Hogwarts and it wasn't long until he was on the train heading towards what he was sure would be the best years of his life. He wasn't wrong. Sorted into Hufflepuff he fit in easily with his peers and quickly formed friendships that still exist to this day. Potions and Herbology were two of the classes he excelled in unsurprisingly, but his favourite class was Charms and Care of Magical Creatures. For the most part he kept out of drama, avoided it entirely if he could actually.
In his sixth year he met Clara, a Ravenclaw in the year above him and whilst their relationship wasn't love at first sight, months of fleeting glances, smiles and brief hellos in the Great Hall they became friends and eventually boyfriend and girlfriend. It was a love story that burned brightly, so much so that when Clara graduated she remained close, working within Hogsmead so they could see each other as often as possible. He was two weeks away from graduating himself when she revealed she was pregnant with his child. Absolutely elated and still riding the honeymoon phase of their young relationship they settled into a small home together, found jobs that were more convenient than a career to build up on, but, he thought he had everything.
It didn't last. They were married less than two years when Clara decided to leave him, claiming that they had 'grown apart'. If it hadn't been for their daughter he wouldn't have been all too bothered because he had witnessed her drifting away from him despite his efforts to make her feel like a princess, but children make things a little bit difficult. Custody was decided upon within courts and he was given two weekends a month. That was all, it broke his heart and he couldn't understand why the woman he had loved so deeply had done this to him and little Addie, he contested it, but he was told all he could do was follow the court order and after it was established that he could follow it they'd revisit the concept of more custodial time.
In the meantime he put his head down and studied, trained, honed his skills until he became more than qualified to get himself a more stable, more meaningful job. Back to Hogwarts he went, gaining a position as a Healer within the hospital wing.
That was seven years ago and he's still there, a familiar face in the Hospital Wing. He now shares custody of his daughter and he's excited that she's also now a student of the school he adores. He and his ex wife tolerate each other but have bitter feelings, considering that she shacked up with one of his close friends there's no real surprise there. They seem happy, have children of their own, but he's still a little bitter when it comes to that woman. Never would he allow his daughter to see that though. Instead he's just focusing on being the best role model he believes he can be for the young people in Hogwarts, always offering a listening ear and empathetic treatment for those who visit the Hospital Wing.
He loves his life. And it shows, it's rare to find this man in a bad mood or without a light smile upon his face, if you do find him in a mood it's most likely to be because he's overly concerned about an individual.

This world is fascinating. Not as fascinating as the Dream realm that he'd spent most of his living hours within, but it was interesting none the less, the laws of physics and natural order reigned supreme and so far he was finding it quite an enjoyable break from the monotony of dwelling alone in his cave back in the Underworld. Home had never been the same since his nest had emptied, children grown and long gone, even his wife had spread her wings and flown the coop. They'd had many lifetimes together so he wasn't bitter, he also had other interests and responsibilities outside of his relationship so his life had never been entirely empty.
It was weirdly empty now though. Most of his power seemed to have left him as soon as he'd taken physical form on the surface of the earth and whilst he wasn't powerless he did feel considerably weird about the entire thing. And the needs. He now felt things he'd never had to worry about before. Like hunger. It was why he'd entered this cafe, he'd smelt the aroma of cooking food and the sleepy god decided to take a look within, unable to stop that base desire to fill his stomach with something delicious.
He stood at the counter, peering through the glass at the assortment of cakes and pastries beyond as he tried to make his mind up on just what the hell to order. For somebody who's not entirely sure what flavours they like this could take a while, especially considering he didn't have endless funds to be spending. Not to mention he was getting a little bit distracted by a sudden itch in the back of his throat, his eyes watering ever so slightly. Strange. He stood up a little straighter, using the heel of his hand and the sleeve of his turtleneck (because it's cold, leave him alone) to wipe at the tears welling there. A soft 'mew' at his feet and the warmth of a cat's body rubbing against his leg caught his attention for all of two seconds before..
“Aaah... A-ACHOO!”
The first sneeze surprised him with it's intensity, the four that followed just blew his damn mind, making him feel as if his very insides were trying to jump out onto his outsides. He's seen it before in the nightmare portion of the dream realm. That obviously didn't happen though. Upon opening his eyes and peering down at the cat at his feet though he did realise that something else had escaped him. The usually well controlled god had accidentally let his power loose from the prison of his aura and it seemed the feline that had welcomed him had succumbed to a sound sleep upon the floor. A couple of other snores from around the cafe let him know that the cat wasn't the only one, but rather than make a scene of it he let out a long suffering sigh and rubbed the bridge of his nose with a finger and a thumb, already he could feel another sneeze building up, but for now he was building walls back into place and attempting to psychically prod awake the poor unsuspecting people he'd just accidentally knocked the hell out.
Weakened abilities also meant weakened control, but he'd fix this.
He just had to fight against an allergy he's never experienced before while doing so.. So tiring.
