Friday evening Mael had spent an hour tidying up his office before he snuck back to the comfort of his residence. His bed was a nice change from the quarters he called home most evenings throughout the year. He wasn't needed this Saturday, so it was within reason to stay at his permanent residence, but with no one waiting at home for him, he'd returned late that morning. Unwilling to spend time in the cold dreariness of the dungeons, Mael left a note on the door stating he'd be in the Staffroom. A cup of black coffee in one hand, the platinum haired Professor stared at the easel in front of him. He'd brought it up to get some painting done, but all he had accomplished was to paint the mounted canvas black with a single shattered well in the center. It was ominous, and to be frank, he didn't like it.

Early morning brought around not very much for Zach, the blonde had spent a couple of hours checking on the few patients within the hospital wing, one who'd spent the night purely because of the time it had been when she'd been carried into the wing. The broken bone in her leg had been healed and she'd toddled off for breakfast with her classmates. Two other walk ins had come and gone and he'd been left slumped at a desk with his mind screaming for a break, he was faced with paperwork that was blurring beneath the mind crushing boredom he felt. He can remember clearly when friday nights had been on fire, a time when he could go out with friends and celebrate the end of the week in style. These days? He'd been in bed at 9pm, snoring on his single mattress and slept half his Saturday's away, but now it had come to this.. He was getting old.
But he didn't have to be. He could do something..
That revelation had been around ten minutes ago and his 'something' was packing his papers up into a bag and traipsing his way to someplace that he could at least potentially socialise with somebody his own age. The staff room. Which is where he saw the all too familiar face of the Potions professor, the quirky individual was sat before an easel and he'd not see what was on there until he reached the table where he slid his own stuff. He'd tilt his head to the side as he regarded the rather dark painting that had come from his imagination, ".. If a dark haired woman begins to crawl out of that well and towards us I hope you won't be too offended if I just skedaddle right back on out of here."
It was a joke.. One he hoped that the other man would understand the reference too, if not, well, he'd just look like a bit of a weirdo. No biggie, but he'd rather not have to sit and explain a movie plot.

Mael's head turned as a voice reached his ears. While the painting was dark and currently underappreciated, he could hardly reflect the same attitude towards the Hogwarts Healer. The smile that curled his lips reached all the way to his eyes, and he couldn't help but laugh at the reference. "I think that is the only muggle movie I have ever watched, and I must say, it was horrifying." It was true. He had a few muggle friends here and there, but they were usually relatives of muggleborn witches and wizards that he knew. Mael didn't make it a point of mingling with the non-magical community. He had nothing against them, he didn't like the idea of hiding.
Mael was glad to be pulled away from the painting. He looked at the bag that had been set down. "Running from sick students," he asked with a hint of curiosity. He lowered his voice. "I'll let you in on a little secret. I'm running from he dungeons. It's too cold down there. If I stay, you'll have another sick patient to deal with." Mael winked at the slightly younger male and settled back in his seat. "What do you think will bring life to it," he asked with a nod in the direction of the painting. "I'm at a loss and I don't like it." He raised his coffee mug to his lips and took a sip. He'd offer the man a cup of the hot liquid, but he'd gotten this particular cup from the kitchens. The only good thing about the dungeons in his humble opinion.
