SHOSHANA CHAVA LEVY
BASIC INFORMATION
Age and Birthday: 16; October 5, 2007
Year and House or Profession: Fifth year Slytherin. Prefect and house team chaser.
FAMILY & HISTORY
Place of Birth: Birmingham
Social Class: Upper middle class
Notable Relatives: her mother, Libby Levy (deceased) and father Reuben Levy. father's longterm partner Raquel. older sister Naomi, baby half-sister Hannah. Plus grandparents and one aunt on Reuben's side, two aunts and a grandmother on Libby's side, Raquel's parents and brother. More than enough to make Passover interesting.
Character History: Formatively, Shoshana's mother died when she was seven. They were close, and the incident left Shoshie somewhat detached from others. She still appears to interact normally for the most part bright and passionate as ever, but internally struggles to make connections, perhaps overextending herself in interactions with others in the attempts to facilitate that connection. This has led to her being a very social, and yet very lonely person. Her parents (meaning her father and father's girlfriend), while not openly bigots, have their reservations about muggles, muggleborns, werewolves, partial humans, etc, and it was with extreme trepidation that, the summer after her third year, Shoshie came out to them as transgender, but to her surprise, they welcomed her identity as a young witch with open arms, helping her choose her new name and new styles with nothing but open encouragement. Professor McGonagall was contacted in order to shift arrangements in dorming once the newly named Miss Shoshana Levy started her fourth year. She maintains hopes that being more authentically herself will allow her to connect more easily, and while now, at the start of her fifth year, she's far more comfortable in her own skin, she isn't sure she's quite there yet. She continues to seek out these connections in her new role as Slytherin prefect.

Role Playing Sample:
During announcements, assemblies, and feasts, the tables in the Great Hall were organized by house as a rule, and to sit at the table of a house you were not a part of was against this rule. The case during regular mealtimes or study halls was a little more freeform. Sure, the tables were still referred to by their house names to describe their location in the hall, but that was just for simplicity: telling your friend to meet you at the Ravenclaw table was faster and easier than the second table to the left, and didn't incur the question of whose left was being referred to.
Shoshie hadn't been told to meet her friend at the Ravenclaw table, but as she strode between that and her own, her eyes scanned the one to her right. She'd come to dinner fairly early: if he wasn't here yet, she could wait and keep an eye on the door. She just hadn't managed to catch him at breakfast or lunch, and birthday or no, it was a weekday, and Silas wouldn't want to be bothered during class time. He was a bit annoying about his focus in class sometimes, but it was usually respectable enough. He was here to get an education, and he took his studies-- and himself-- very seriously.
As it happened, he was here already, a third of the way down the stretch of dark oak trestle table, chatting with one of the first years of his house under his leadership as prefect. She hoped she wasn't interrupting, Silas took his duties as prefect just as seriously as everything else. "Hey birthday boy!" she called in greeting as she came closer. "Happy Monday." She reached across the table to place a novel-sized gift wrapped in cream-colored tissue paper with a pattern of brown coffee cups beside his plate. Wrapped in the same pattern of tissue paper was a small pouch tied with twine to the front. A glowing ribbon was adorned to the corner of the gift. That one was just because she'd learned the enchantment on her own recently and wanted to show off her little parlor trick.
