IT'S LIKE YOU'RE ALWAYS STUCK IN SECOND GEAR It had been a long day and Becky was more than ready for a break. It wasn’t like she was having trouble with her studies, she had done quite well on her O.W.L.S and the workload was not all that difficult here in her sixth year, but she was just tired of it all. Sometimes she wished that she could just leave school after this year and make her way in the world without her seventh year. However, that was a pipe dream at best. She had literally nowhere to go outside of school, and if she wanted to make something of herself, she had to get the education and hopefully the job that came with it. Still, that was in the future, and she was content now to live in the present. Dinner was still going on in the Great Hall and she had found herself alone here in the Hufflepuff common room. She had left the hall before her fellow ‘puffs, and she did it for this reason alone, to steal a few moments for herself without being bothered. She knew that she could have gone to her spot near the lake, but it was too cold out there tonight and besides, she was feeling lazy and did not feel like making her way out there tonight. She was laying back in one of her favorite chairs near the fire, her tie loosened and idly playing with her wand, her potions text lying opened and forgotten at her feet. Her mind wandering, she was completely unaware of her surroundings. If anyone even came close to her now, she would have no idea of there presence.

there's still so much to learn So many dreams to earn [attr="class","em"] It felt as if Abbey hadn't had time to catch her breath since the second week of school. Her life was a constant, rotating schedule, it was a wonder how she even had time to eat. If Ravenclaw had not beat her to scheduling the pitch, she would be out on her broom. It took the intervention of another team captain to get her off the pitch, forcing her to get back to reality. Though her mind and body were tired, she made an appearance at dinner and scarfed down her food. She was burning so many calories these days that when she did sit down for a meal, she eat more than she was used to. Not only was she eating more, she was eating faster. Abbey was the first one to finish dinner and instead of hanging around to chat or look for Bryant, she excused herself.
Even after she had taken a hot shower, the dorm was deserted. She should have gone to bed early, but it was much too quiet for her liking. She was so used to hearing the whispers or quiet laughs of her roommates, she couldn't simply sleep without that. With a deep sigh, Abbey pushed herself off the bed and grabbed her blanket. It trailed behind her as she made her way into the common room, where not a soul could be hear.
Except... her eyes lit up when she saw the sight of Becky. Her footsteps were almost silent as she approached the girl near the fireplace. Once she was behind her, Abbey leaned in over the girl's shoulder and smiled, "What are you doing?" Now, if Abbey had been in Becky's place, she would have had a heart attack. But she didn't think about that, besides, Abbey never mean any harm. [newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 1px;[/newclass][newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #000;[/newclass]

YOUR JOBS A JOKE, YOUR BROKE, YOUR LOVE LIFE IS DOA “What are you doing?”
If Becky had been a cat, she would have lost one of her nine lives because she just had the life scared out of her. She looked over her shoulder in the direction of the voice, ready to seriously tear into whoever had just startled her. However, her anger was instantly dissipated when she caught sight of her best friend, and near Sister Abbey. Anyone else would have gotten a serious verbal, if not physical beat down from the petite Hufflepuff, but Abbey and Becky had known each other for so long, this kind of behavior was not only common, but expected. Both girls knew that Becky would retaliate sometime in the near future. It was a simple game between the two friends that kept life interesting.
“Merlin Abbey! What the bloody hell do you think you are doing? You nearly gave me a heart attack!” Becky was not really angry, but she had to pretend that she was for form sack, even though Abbey knew her better than that. They had been through a lot together for her not to. Ever since the two had met at the orphanage where Becky had spent the last ten years or so of her life, the two had been pretty much inseparable. It did help that they were the same age and when both were accepted to Hogwarts, sorted into the same house. Abbey had remembered that sorting very well, terrified that she would be separated from Abbey and left to negotiate the terror of the school on her own. Thankfully, that had not been the case, and the past five and a half years had been some of the best of her life, thanks in no small part to the girl behind her.
She motioned to her friend to have a seat. “You may as well join me. I should be studying, but potions hold no interest for me at the moment. Professor Rivers assigned a one foot long essay due tomorrow, but I just can’t bring myself to even start it now. What about you? Rough day?”
