Lucy was having a hard time concentrating through the classes of the day, so as evening drew nearer she knew what she would do. She would go to her favorite spot - the potions classroom, and she would work on some of the potions notes she had been trying out to find if any of the combinations made a new potion that might have some benefit or consequence. She had blown up plenty of cauldrons before, but she could always bribe her parents to buy new ones whenever that happened, because well, it was for the benefit of her education and sanity. She needed to brew and to try new things, it gave her inner peace that helped her control her addiction to ink. She would have fifty or eighty tattoos by now if she didn't have somewhere else to put her energies and creativities. It was her outlet. Probably her most positive outlet.
She added some shredded boomslang skin to the cauldron and stirred it thrice anti-clockwise, waving her wand to increase the temperature and leaving it on a timer to let her know to add the next ingredients. The next ingredient was powdered root of sage bush and a pixie wing. It would then be heated again for another five minutes before she added the final two ingredients, the slug slime, and the aloe plant. It would hopefully end up with a thick consistency and a color of mild green. It would probably be a salve, she hoped at least, it would be the first success in the series of potions and things she had tried to create. She had managed one other thing, but it wasn't very useful, it was a nasty smelling smoke screen, she had only found it useful to annoying her father when at home, and when asked where she got it, she always told him the joke shop.
Her timer dinged and she added the next two ingredients, stirring twice clockwise to thicken it a little bit more, and than came the last steps. To put it on the heater. She had just set the temperature again and her timer when the door opened. She looked up in shock, no one was usually down here during the evening meal, just her. She looked at the door with her eyes narrowed and she had her wand ready in case it was someone looking to start a fight with, her wand was just out of sight, but her fingers were on it tightly. She didn't like when people intruded on her time. Her eyebrows knitted together tightly and she asked in a firm voice "Who is it?" She was very defensive of her private time. Whoever it was better have a good reason to bother her.
